A thread lift is a minimally invasive alternative to a surgical face or neck lift. Fine, dissolvable PDO threads are placed beneath the skin to gently reposition it, giving a refreshed and lifted appearance without incisions.
Threads also prompt the body’s natural healing response, encouraging new collagen in the treated area. As they dissolve over time there is nothing to remove, and results typically last 12 to 18 months.
Designed to complement your features
Rather than reshaping the face, a thread lift is planned around your natural contours, aiming for a refreshed, rested look.
What does the procedure involve?
Treatment is performed under local anaesthetic and takes less than 90 minutes. There is no cutting or stitching of the skin.
What happens at a thread lift consultation?
Dr Botros will analyse your skin, facial structure and goals, explain the options and the expected outcome, and go through costs and the number of threads needed. Before photos are taken for comparison.
Who is it suitable for?
Men and women looking for a lift without surgery, for example of the jowls, cheeks or brows, or to soften marionette lines and nose-to-mouth folds.
What can I expect afterwards?
Some swelling is common, especially at the outer cheeks, and bruising is possible. Swelling is usually mild and settles within about ten days.
How long does it last?
The threads dissolve over 12 to 18 months, and results typically last for a similar period.
