Q-Switch Nd:YAG Laser
Targeted laser for pigmentation, sun spots and skin toning.
- Downtime
- Minimal for laser toning
The Q-switched Nd:YAG is a versatile laser that offers different wavelengths for a variety of skin concerns. Its ultra-short pulses break up unwanted pigment so it can be naturally reabsorbed and cleared by the body.
It treats sun spots, freckles, pigmentation and some birthmarks. At low energy it is also used for “laser toning”, stimulating collagen to improve fine lines, pores and acne scarring.
How does it work?
The laser targets melanin in the skin to break up pigmented lesions. A deeper wavelength can treat deeper marks, and at lower energy the laser stimulates collagen for rejuvenation.
Does it hurt?
Laser toning uses low energy and is usually comfortable without anaesthetic. Deeper marks need higher energy, and a local anaesthetic may be used.
What can I expect afterwards?
The area may feel like a light sunburn, which typically settles within one to two days. Most people return to normal activities straight away after toning.
